[2025-1] Foreign Language Test Exemption Application
학위논문 제출 자격시험: 외국어시험 면제 신청 안내
1. Application Period : Until 2025. 3. 21.(Fri), 17:30 (Punctuality)
※ 학사운영규정 Article 51 revision, the submission deadline for supporting documents for English/Korean subjects is set to the Qualifying exam deadline.
※ The application can be made only after meeting the exemption criteria for the English/Korean subjects.
2. Foreign Language Test Subject
1) English Test
2) Korean Test (Only Korean Studies(한국학전공) students can select Korean language test)
3. Eligibility: Application is allowed regardless of acquired credits.
4. Exam Format: Apply for a foreign language exam exemption.
※ The PNU GSIS' own foreign language test will no longer be administered starting from the Spring 2025 semester.
5. Submission Documents

② Documentary Evidence (Choose one of the following)
1) Official Foreign Language Proficiency Test Score Report
* Exemption applications can only be made for scores obtained after admission to the relevant program. Additionally, the score must be within the validity period of the exam at the time of the exemption application.
2) Alternative English/Korean courses: Attach a screenshot of the 'PASS' status for the alternative course from the PNU Language Education Institute website.
3) Copy of Passport
4) Copy of Degree Certificate

6. How to Check the Exemption Application Result (2025. Apr. 9.(Wed) 11:00 schedule)
- Visit [onestop.pusan.ac.kr] → Click [졸업(Graduation)] → Click 학위논문제출자격시험(Qualifying examination)→ Click [외국어시험합격조회(Inquire about Foreign Language Proficiency Test] and [종합시험합격조회(Inquire about Qualifying Examination)]
7. Important Information
1) The in-house English exam conducted by PNU GSIS will no longer be implemented starting from the Fall semester of 2025, so exemption application is mandatory.
2) English/Korean language proficiency scores must be obtained after admission to the relevant program, and only scores within the validity period will be accepted.
3) Only in-person or mail submission is allowed; email submission is not permitted (due to issues such as receipt errors).
4) When submitting by mail, please confirm receipt by phone.
5) In case of proxy submission, the applicant is responsible for any missing information.
6) The application form must be submitted in its original form.
